From whale bone replicas to giant sculptures, we print custom models of any shape or scale using recycled materials. Whether you need it light, smooth or textured, highly detailed or bold—we build it with precision, finish it your way, and keep waste to a minimum.
Why build big with Swellcycle?
- Large-Scale 3D Printing: Dream Big. Print big. Our limit is yours.
- High Resolution & Detail: We capture and print with a high level of detail. From tiny bone cracks to skin wrinkles—nothing will be left behind.
- Lightweight: Our 3D printing technology allows us to reduce the weight of large sculptures by designing internal structures and hollow spaces—making transport, installation, and handling much easier.
- Post-Printing Finishing: Want your sculpture matte, painted, and built to handle the elements? We sand, surface, and finish your piece to spec—ready for indoors, outdoors, and everything in between.
- Lighting Integration: Want your sculpture to be the light? We build in internal lighting so your piece doesn’t just stand out—it lights up from the inside.
- Eco-Conscious Manufacturing: Made from recycled PETG and printed without molds or foam blocks—so there’s no waste from carving or casting. A cleaner way to build big.
How it works
Step 1: Send us your vision.
Whether it’s a 3D model or a photo. Just include the dimensions you have in mind.
Step 2: We quote and confirm.
We’ll break down timeline, materials, finish, and delivery—clear, simple, and up front.
Step 3: We do the rest.
From printing to surfacing, painting, and lighting—our team handles it all, based on what you need.
Projects
Miss Blue, the iconic 87-foot blue whale skeleton at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz, has inspired millions over the past four decades. However, exposure to coastal elements led to structural deterioration, necessitating a restoration that aligns with the Center's commitment to sustainability.
Swellcycle is using advanced 3D printing technology to create precise replicas of Miss Blue's damaged bones. By employing recycled PETG—sourced from post-industrial materials like hospital trays—and sealing with bio-based resin, we're ensuring that the restoration process is environmentally conscious.
The restoration process began with meticulous 3D scanning of the skeleton, capturing every detail to produce accurate digital models. These models guide our printing process, allowing us to replicate the bones with high fidelity. Our approach not only preserves Miss Blue's legacy but also demonstrates how technology and sustainability can converge to protect marine life .
Additionally, we've created a 1/8 scale model of Miss Blue's skeleton using, making her legacy accessible for marine education. This detailed replica helps inspire learning about blue whales and ocean conservation.

We brought Pana Food Truck's beloved capybara mascot to life—holding one of their signature, mouthwatering arepas.
Starting with a photo of the original character, we created a 3D model, scaled it up to mascot size, and printed it using recycled materials. After that, a talented artist sanded, surfaced, and hand-painted the sculpture for full personality and pop. The result? A fun, durable, and totally on-brand piece that now travels with the truck and turns heads wherever it goes.
