Learn the origins, anatomy, and craftsmanship behind surfboard design, along with the story and technique behind 3D-printed surfboards. Then, we’ll dive into the basics of Akushaper: views, key tools, navigation, and how the software is structured.
Start building your own board in Akushaper. We’ll cover how to create a new board, shape the outline, adjust the nose, tail, and wide point, refine curves for a smooth flow, work with rocker, thickness, and foil, add bottom contours, and place fin boxes.
In the final session, you’ll learn how to spot and fix common beginner mistakes, clean up your design, and prepare your board for 3D printing. We’ll cover foil consistency, file organization, simplifying the structure, and exporting for a scaled prototype. Part of this class will also be dedicated to student design reviews to make sure each board is ready for printing.
